STEAK TOCOS
– Flank steak (about 1 ½ pounds), trimmed – Olive oil – Lime juice – Chili powder – Cumin – Garlic powder – Salt – Black pepper – Corn tortillas – Your favorite taco toppings
Cook Time: 30 Min
Ingredients
Whisk together olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Marinate the steak in this mixture for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight for the most flavorful results.
Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness. Let the steak rest for 10 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
While the steak rests, warm your corn tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds each. This makes them pliable and prevents tearing when filling.
Fill each warmed tortilla with sliced steak, then pile on your favorite toppings! Cilantro, chopped red onion, crumbled queso fresco, and a squeeze of lime are classic choices.
Get creative! Add guacamole, pico de gallo, salsa, or a dollop of sour cream for an extra burst of flavor and texture.
Set out a variety of toppings and let everyone customize their steak tacos! Chopped fresh vegetables, different cheeses, and even a pineapple salsa are all delicious options.
Savor your delicious homemade steak tacos! This recipe is sure to become a family favorite for weeknight dinners or casual get-togethers.
